What are the World Business Awards?
The World Business Awards are a group of international awards programs recognising the success, innovation and ethics of companies and organisations across all industry sectors. Conducted annually, the awards honour the world's industry leaders through the acknowledgment of innovative business processes, product development, enterprise, service excellence, environmental sustainability and overall business success.

 

What types of organisations can enter the Awards?
All types of corporations and organisations, private or public are eligible to enter. This includes multi-national subsidiaries, government departments, agencies or bodies, franchisors and non-government organisations from Asia (South East Asia, Central Asia, Middle East), Australia, Canada, European Union (all member nations) & the United States.


What are the award categories?
There are a total of 20 award categories. These are divided into 10 organisational and 10 product award categories for each industry.


What are the organisational award categories?
There are 10 business award categories: Enterprise, Innovation, Service Excellence, Public Service, International Trade, Marketing Excellence, Recommended Employer, Community Contribution, Environmental Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility.


What are the product award categories?
There are 10 product award categories: Product Excellence, Product Innovation, Best Consumer Product, Best Value, Best New Product, Best Eco-Friendly Product, Best Organic Product, Design Excellence, Best Business Product & Best E-Business product.


What products do not qualify for a World Product Award?
Products or designs that are still under development and/or not yet commercially launched are excluded from entering the World Product Awards.


What products qualify for a World Product Award?
In the context of the World Product Awards program, the term "product" refers to a specific product or service that an organisation sells or provides to its customers. All products must be commercially available within the current market to qualify.

How does our organisation enter the World Business Awards?
Registration is required to to obtain the World Business Awards entry form and instructions. Please proceed to the appropriate regional links to register: www.worldbusinessawards.com.


What do I do once I have completed the registration process?
The next step is to prepare and complete your entry. Please refer to the entry guidelines and award criteria for full instructions. The entry must be submitted by a company officer, authorised employee or authorised representative of the organisation entering the awards. This person is deemed the entrant contact and must be available to verify and provide additional information during the judging process if requested.


Can anyone submit a product or an organisation for an award?
No, a company officer, authorised employee or authorised representative of the organisation entering the awards must submit the entry.


Can entrants particpate in multiple award categories?
Yes, however a separate submission must be submitted for each award category entered.


When is the deadline for entries?
The deadline for each program is administered by the respective region.


Our organisation entered last year, can we enter again this year?
Yes, there is currently no limit to the number of consecutive years that the same organisation can enter the Awards.


How will I know if my entry has been received?
An e-mail message will be forwarded to the entrant contact's email address confirming that their entry has been received. Entries successfully submitted via our online entry system will recieve a confirmation e-mail immediately. Entries submitted via post will receive a confirmation e-mail within 10 business days upon receipt.

What is the judging methodology?
All entries are evaluated in accordance with the award key criteria across seven main areas: leadership & strategy, impact on industry, adaptability & sustainability, human resource management, customer relationship management, process management and evidence of success. These criteria are weighted by the judges as they deem appropriate according to the award category entered. The information provided in your entry form, written submission, product samples and supporting materials is the source by which you will be judged.


How is the judging conducted?
Entries will be judged on the basis of the information provided in the completed entry form, your submission, product samples and supporting materials. Entries are seperated by industry classification per award category. The judging process is conducted in two stages.


What happens in the first stage?
In this first stage, the judging panel will evaluate the entry for eligibility, completeness, thoroughness, appropriateness and general conformance to the award criteria. Specific criteria may be weighted differently in different categories, at the judges’ discretion. Entrants meeting a minimum score will progress to the second judging stage whereby entrants may be asked to to submit samples or other supplementary material for evaluation. The organisers will only inform those organisations that have been selected to progress to the second judging stage. The entrant contact will be informed by email or registered mail. Complete instructions will be provided to the entrants upon written notification.


How will I be notified of the second round judging results?
Entrants are notified of the judging results prior to the public annoucement. The entrant contact is notified by confidential by email or registered mail the week preceding the public announcement.


Who has access to my entry?
Throughout the judging process the information contained in your submission will only be accessible to the World Business Awards and the Award judges, each of whom is required to sign a strict confidentiality agreement. To protect your privacy throughout the judging process we will not provide any information whatsoever about your entry to anyone other than the 'Entrant Contact' as specified on the official entry. The entrant contact must be a company officer or authorised employee of the organisation entering the Awards.


How are entries treated in terms of disclosure?
We do not publish the names of companies, organisations or their products that have not been selected for an award, nor will we reproduce any information from their entry. Therefore if you enter the awards, but are not successful, this will remain confidential. In addition, entrants may mark any commercially sensitive information contained in their entry as ‘not for publication’. The organisers reserve the right to use information contained in the winning entries (apart from contact details and any content marked not for publication) for subsequent publicity, promotions and other activities relating to the awards program.
